Keith E. Kidwell 80 Oblong, Illinois died Friday, September 27, 2002 at the Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong, Illinois following many months of failing health. Keith was born in Willow Hill, Illinois on January 31, 1922 and was the son of Elmer and Ella (Wright) Kidwell. On June 26, 1947 Keith married Ruth Maxine Coulter, Maxine preceded him in death on February 26, 1997. Keith owned and operated Kidwell Fire and Safety Company, retiring in 1987. Keith served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Oblong First Christian Church, Oblong American Legion Post #219, KJU Sunday School Class at the First Christian Church and the Oblong Ruritan Club.

Keith is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Jerry and Tamra Kidwell; two grandsons Ryan and Shelly Kidwell, Jason and Laura Kidwell; one great grandson Gage Kidwell.

Keith is preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois.

Graveside Military Rites were conducted by Oblong American Legion Post # 219
